The Value of a Financial Plan

Why do we believe in doing comprehensive financial plans for each client?

  • To learn your goals and needs

  • To gauge the appropriate risk

  • To understand your time horizon

  • When markets get volatile or do poorly we have a plan to follow

It’s easy to forget the importance of developing a financial plan when the markets are hitting new highs, but by having a prepared plan we can refer to it in times of market stress to keep us on track to where we want to go. Stressful situations breed bad decisions. To avoid making bad decisions in combat, soldiers train with standard operating procedures. The end game is to ensure soldiers avoid “gut-instinct” and focus on tried-and-true processes. Investors should follow a similar playbook.
